DAY 1 : SALVADOR / ARRIVAL
International flight arrival (schedule and flight number to confirm). Reception at the airport and private transportation to the hotel. Check-in, Installation and rest of the day at leisure.

DAY 2 : SALVADOR / CULTURAL AND HISTORICAL CITY TOUR
At 09:00, meeting in the hotel lobby with an English-speaking guide. Today’s visit goes through the lower part of Salvador. First stop at Barra’s lighthouse which has been guiding ships to the entrance of the bay for 450 years. Next stop at the São Joaquim Market: loud, colourful and tasty where Candomblé magic is not far! The trip continues to the peninsula of Ribeira, a lively neighbourhood: in the morning during fish market and at night for dancing. The visit finishes at the church of Bonfim where and its impressive: “room of miracle” which proves the strong popular devotion. Guide visit of the “Pelourinho”, where the history and energy of Salvador are centred. Walking among traditional houses and churches. Salvador reveals the secrets of the afro-Brazilian religion and its baroque treasures. The “Pelourinho” surprises travellers on every corner: a “Batuque”; a cold beer; a ‘berimbau “; a “roda de Capoeira “. From the “Elevador Lacerda”, an amazing view of the Baia de Todos os Santos; the area “do Comercio”, and the souvenir mercado modelo. On the other side the “Praça da Sé”; and the Museum of Afro-Brazilian culture, the pulsating heart of Salvador. Return at the hotel by mid-afternoon. Rest of the day at leisure.

DAY 3 : SALVADOR – LENÇÓIS
At 05:30, meeting in the hotel lobby with a local Portuguese-speaking driver. Private transpotation to Salvador bus station. At 07:00, departure by collective passenger bus to Lençóis, “capital” of the Chapada Diamantina National Park. 06H30 journey for 415 km. Upon arrival, the group shall make his way to the hotel. Check-in, installation at the hotel and rest of the day leisure. The surroundings offers many attractions and offers a first step into the National Park and its wonders. Walking visit into the historical city centre built around diamond mining. Bath in Serrano’s pool, overlooking the small town, Walk to the Grizante River & its natural toboggan.

DAY 4 : LENÇÓIS / TORRINHA, POÇO DO DIABO & MORRO DO PAI INÁCIO
At 08:30, meeting in the hotel lobby with an English-speaking guide. Itinerant visit to discover the Chapada Diamantina National Park main attractions. Speleological stop to visit the cave of Torrinha, between gypsum needles and calcite bowls. Afterwards, direction to the “Poço do Diabo”, a powerful invitation to bath. After lunch, ascent to the “Morro do Pai Ignacio”, a lonely peak who offers impressive views of the regional panorama and the Brazilian immensity. Return to Lençóis by the end of the day. Evening at leisure.

DAY 5 LENÇÓIS – CACHOEIRA DA FUMAÇA – LENÇÓIS
At 08:30, meeting in the hotel lobby with an English-speaking guide. Private transpotation to the tiny hippy born village of Caeté Açú. Journey of 01H20 for 80 km. A small path is the starting point to reach the Fumaça Waterfall. 03H00 walk for 300 meters uphill. The “smoking cascade” appears after the ascension on the sides of Capão Valley. Hidden between the stones, at 370 meters high, it is the highest waterfall in Brazil. Its nickname comes from the refreshing halo created by winds that sweep the rocky canyon. Picnic on the mountain’s top. The track goes back the same way to a refreshing swim in the Riachinho waters. Return to Lençóis, by the end of the day. Evening at leisure.

DAY 6 : LENÇÓIS – MARIMBUS – LENÇÓIS
At 09:00, meeting in the hotel lobby with an English-speaking guide. Direction to the Remanso. There, embark on canoes for a 02H00 silent navigation, into a lake area; to discover the local fauna and flora. Short hike to a local lunch. After lunch, time to relax by the Roncador river banks. Return to Remanso for a walk through the local rainforest. The soft trek, goes through the flooded area to offer nice panoramas on the Chapada Canyons. Return to Lençóis by the end of the day. Evening at leisure.

DAY 7 : LENÇÓIS – SALVADOR – RECIFE
30 minutes before bus departure, the group shall make his way to Lençóis bus station. At 07:00, departure by collective passenger bus to Salvador. 06H30 journey to 415 km. Upon arrival, reception at the bus station and private transpotation to the airport. Domestic flight Salvador – Recife (schedule and flight number to confirm). Upon arrival, reception and private transpotation to the hotel. Check-in, installation and evening at leisure.

DAY 8 : RECIFE / CITY TOUR & BRENNAND INSTITUTE
At 09:00, meeting in the hotel lobby with an English-speaking guide. Private visit to Recife in the neighbourhoods of São José, Santo Antônio and Recife Antigo. In order to discover the city’s origins where the Dutch and the Portuguese architecture met. Stops at ground zero, at the Golden Chapel, which walls are covered with gold cedar leaves; at the Santo Antonio Convent, its vaults and its hand painted tiles; at the São Pedro Square and its bridges built by the Flemish during the XVIIth century. Visit to the Municipal Market, and its Art Nouveau structure, where everything is sold, in a wide range of colours and flavours… Lunch in the market to taste the regional specialties. After lunch, the visit continues to the Francisco Brennand Institute, a prolific Brazilian artist who brings the public into his unique surrealistic universe. Walk into the gardens around the lakes and in the “castle” to discover a large collection of ceramic, and paintings. Return to the hotel by mid-afternoon. End of the day at leisure.

DAY 9 : RECIFE – FERNANDO DE NORONHA

DAYS 10 & 11 : FERNANDO DE NORONHA / AT LEISURE

Several activities can be organised on the island. The exuberant nature and isolated location can satisfy the adventurer and the lazy ones…. Our suggestions:

  • Boat tour; to the island main attractions;
  • Snorkeling and scuba-diving (baptism or certifications);
  • Buggy rental to self-discover the island;
  • Accompanied horse ride or trek on the island paths: Bay Trail, Capím Açú, …
