DAY 1 : BELO HORIZONTE / ARRIVAL
International flight arrival in Belo Horizonte (schedule and flight number to confirm). Reception at the airport and private transportation to the hotel. Check-in, Installation and rest of the day at leisure.

DAY 2 : BELO HORIZONTE – INHOTIM – OURO PRETO
At 08:30, meeting in the lobby of the hotel with an English-speaking guide/driver. He will escort the group on Minas Gerais colonial cities routes. Transfer to the Inhotim complex. 01H00 journey for 60 km. Created in 2005, this botanical and landscape gardens feature a collection of contemporary art in: “a place of knowledge production where the environment and art coexist”. Guided walking visit through cultural and scientific initiatives which compose the complex. The closure of the Inhotim leads us back on the road to Ouro Preto. 01H30 journey for 110 km. Upon arrival, check-in, installation at the hotel. Evening at leisure.

Obs.: Inhotim is closed on Mondays.

DAY 3 : OURO PRETO & MARIANA
At 09:00, meeting in the hotel lobby with an English-speaking guide. The wealth extracted from mines in the XVIII century transformed the region into an architectural museum. A perfect stopover for art and architecture lovers. Discover colonial houses and religious buildings such as Nossa Senhora do Pilar church…, the art of Aleijadinho, Mestre Athaíde and their disciples. The tour continues to Mariana located about 10 km away from Ouro Preto. The singular village is almost untouched since the Portuguese installation: a wonder! Visit to the cathedral and the “Pelourinho”. The day ends in the pursuit of Ouro Preto splendours. Visit to the Oratory Museum and the Mining Museum. Evening at leisure.

Obs.: Monday’s most of the attractions are closed. Fridays at 11:30 and Sundays at 12:15, organ recitals are given at the matriz de Santo Antonio Catedral in Mariana.

DAY 4 : OURO PRETO – CONGONHAS – TIRADENTES
This morning, the visit of Ouro Preto continues. After lunch, it is time to head south to the city of Congonhas. 01H30 journey for 115 km. The hill that overlooks the city holds Master Antonio Francisco Lisboa, “o Aleijadinho”, masterpiece. Twelve allegories, human-sized, carved at the feet of the Basilica de Bom Jesus dos Matosinhos. This set is classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The afternoon goes on the road to Tiradentes, a village preserved from the colonial era. 01H30 for 115 km. Upon arrival, check-in, installation at the hotel. After a break, guided visit among the cobblestone streets, baroque vestiges and workshops. Evening at leisure.

Obs.: Monday’s most of the attractions are closed. From Friday to Sunday a steam train makes the journey between Tiradentes and São João Del Rei.

DAY 5 : TIRADENTES – RIO DE JANEIRO
In the morning, the journey continues toward Rio de Janeiro. 04H00 journey for 330 km. An early departure allows a final stop at Petropolis, a Brazilian Imperial City. 01H30 journey for 70 km. Discover the Imperial Museum, the Cathedral and the Palace of Crystal. Stop at the curious house of the aviator Santos Dumont. Arrival in Rio de Janeiro and installation at the hotel.

DAY 6 : RIO DE JANEIRO / CORCOVADO
At 09:00 a.m, meeting in the hotel lobby with an English-speaking guide. Private transportation to one of the modern world 7 wonders, the worldwide symbol of Rio de Janeiro. From the Corcovado hill, the allegory of Jesus Christ embraces and protects the Cidade Maravilhosa. The panorama offers on the city and its environment is impressive. On one side, the legendary beaches: Ipanema, Leblon, …, the Sugar Loaf; on the other, the northern area and the Maracanã stadium. Return to the hotel by late morning or afternoon. Rest of the day at leisure.

DAY 7 : RIO DE JANEIRO / GUIDE AT DISPOSAL
At 09:00, meeting in the hotel lobby with an English-speaking guide/driver. He perfectly knows the city and will escort the group to discover Rio de Janeiro best spots. Depending on the group wishes and his advice, Rio de Janeiro reveals its history in the city centre, its exuberance in the Tijuca rainforest National Park, the beauty of its beaches with legendary names of Ipanema, Leblon,… a personalized service for an unforgettable day. Return to the hotel by mid-afternoon. Rest of the day at leisure.

DAY 8 : RIO DE JANEIRO / AT LEISURE

DAY 9 : RIO DE JANEIRO – PARATY
At 09:00, meeting in the hotel lobby and private transportation to Paraty. 04H00 journey for 260 km. Upon arrival, check-in and installation at the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure to discover the historical city centre, a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The city reveals, after a century of isolation, its magnificent colonial mansions, its great cultural life and its romantic atmosphere. Return to hotel by the end of the afternoon. Evening at leisure.

DAY 10 : PARATY / BOAT TOUR ON THE BAY
At 09:30, meeting in the hotel lobby with the captain. Walk to Paraty’s marina. The regional fishing boat his equipped for costal navigation. Sailing day to explore the islands and deserted beaches that abound in Paraty’s bay. Bath is mandatory, snorkelling if up to you, Caïpirinha is optional. Return to Paraty with the sunset. Evening at leisure.

DAY 11 : PARATY – ANGRA DOS REIS – ILHA GRANDE
Manhã livre.
Às 13:00, encontro no lobby do hotel. Em veículo privado, translado com destino a Angra dos Reis. Trajeto de 01H30 para 100 km. Às 15:30, embarque na balsa com destino a Ilha Grande. Travessia de 01H30. Recepção na chegada e acompanhamento ao hotel. Instalação e fim do dia livre.
Passagem da balsa incluída. Refeições não incluídas. Pernoite no hotel.

DAYS 12 & 13 : ILHA GRANDE / AT LEISURE
Day at leisure.
Several activities can be organised. The exuberant nature and isolated location can satisfy the adventurer and the lazy ones…. Our suggestions:

  • Boat excursions to the island treasures;
  • Trekking’s to Lopes Mendes (3H00 walk); the Dois Rios abandoned penitentiary (4H30 walk); the island highest point: Pico do Papagaio (5H30 walk);
  • Farniente, relaxation, and grilled fish;
  • Boat rental, kayaking or surfing;
  • Diving on a wreck submerged in the bay.

DAY 14 : ILHA GRANDE – ANGRA DOS REIS – RIO DE JANEIRO / DEPARTURE
At 09:15, walking transfer to Ilha Grande’s pier. Collective passenger ferry boat departure at 10:00. 01H30 navigation to Rio de Janeiro airport. 02H30 journey for 150 km. International flight (schedule and flight number to confirm).
Ferry boat tickets included. Meals not included.
