DAY 1 : RIO DE JANEIRO / ARRIVAL
International flight arrival in Rio de Janeiro (schedule and flight number to confirm). Reception at the airport and private transportation to the hotel. Check-in, Installation and rest of the day at leisure.

DAY 2 : RIO DE JANEIRO / CORCOVADO & HISTORICAL CITY CENTER
At 09:00 a.m, meeting in the hotel lobby with an English-speaking guide. Private transportation to one of the modern world 7 wonders, the worldwide symbol of Rio de Janeiro. From the Corcovado hill, the allegory of Jesus Christ embraces and protects the Cidade Maravilhosa. The panorama offers on the city and its environment is impressive. On one side, the legendary beaches: Ipanema, Leblon, …, the Sugar Loaf; on the other, the northern area and the Maracanã stadium. The visitation continues through the neighborhood of Santa Teresa until the historic center of Rio for a walking tour. Founded in 1565, São Sebastião do Rio de Janeiro has a lot to teach. The cobbled streets share space with skyscrapers and museums. The group interests will determine the visitation schedule. But it guarantees the main attractions: Cinelandia, escadaria colorida, Cathedral, Praca Tiradentes, Real Gabinete Portuguese de Leitura, Uruguaiana, son souk, Praca XV, le Morro da Conceição, Praca Maua and Rio Art Museum. The visitation allows to discover every phase of construction of the city and its development for the World Cup and the Olympic Games. Return to the hotel by late afternoon. Rest of the day at leisure.

DAY 3: RIO DE JANEIRO / FAVELA DONA MARTA
At 09:00 a.m, meeting in the hotel lobby with an English-speaking guide. Public transportation to Santa Marta favelas, a former drug lord’s stronghold. It offers a complementary view and perspective of the Brazilian society. With a local guide, born in the community funicular ride to reach the summit of the community. Panorama of the region, stop at the football pitch and walk down through the tangled streets, the history and the everyday life of this popular community. Created as an example for all the other communities Santa Marta favelas bets on education and culture to provide younger generations a healthy future. Return to the hotel by late morning. Rest of the day at leisure.

DAY 4 : RIO DE JANEIRO – IGUAÇU / THE BRAZILIAN FALLS
03H00 hours prior to take-off, private transportation to the airport. Domestic flight Rio de Janeiro – Iguaçú (schedule and flight number to confirm). Upon arrival, reception at the airport and private transportation to the hotel. Installation followed by a tour in the Parque Nacional de Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil. It gives an overview of the “Devil’s Throat”, the most powerful falls. A unique view of the rocky amphitheatre, passing several tons of water per second to the “Iguaçú River”. After the visit, stop at the Bird park. It gathers all the world and endemic species of birds.
Return to the hotel by the end of the day. Evening at leisure.

DAY 5 : IGUAÇU / THE ARGENTINIAN FALLS
At 8:30, meeting in the hotel lobby with an English-speaking guide. Visit to Puerto Iguazu National Park, Argentina. 40 minutes transfer for 30 km. Stop at the symbolic point of the triple border between Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay. In the Park several kilometres of footbridges allow the tourist to get very close to hundreds of cascades that refresh the air. The day continues to stimulate the eyes and the heart in this natural coliseum. The star of the circuit: the overhead view of the “Devil’s Throat” is the most impressive. Return to the hotel by the end of the day. Evening at leisure.

DAY 6 : FOZ DO IGUAÇÚ – MANAUS
03H00 prior to take-off, private transpotation to the airport. Domestic flight Iguaçu – Campo Grande (schedule and flight number to confirm). Upon arrival, reception at the airport and and private transportation to the hotel. Check-in, Installation and rest of the day at leisure.

DAY 7 : MANAUS – MALOCAS JUNGLE LODGE
At 08:00, meeting in the hotel lobby. Private transportation to the Malocas Jungle Lodge. The discovery starts by a lovely road north into the Amazon Tropical Rainforest. 01H00 journey for 80 km. It ends right next to the village of Rio Preto da Eva. The second part will be, to reach the lodge, by boat among floating houses, egrets and alligators. The Amazon Rainforest is gently unveiled. Upon arrival, installation in the rustic rooms, followed by lunch. The afternoon splits between a walk in the surrounding to spot first plant, insect and trees and a relaxing time on a white sandy beach and a swim into dark waters of the river. Candlelight dinner.

DAY 8 : MALOCAS JUNGLE LODGE / AMAZON FOREST
Today is completely dedicated to discover the environment and its mysteries. Accompanied by a bilingual guide, incursion in the secondary rainforest. The track disappears under the weight of vegetation, but the guide is familiar with the maze and its secrets. The forest provides to its population: food, medicinal plants, tools and materials needed on a daily basis. An impression of power and respect remains. After lunch, embark on canoes, the flow conducts the boat into a silent navigation. Many species benefit from the sand banks and “Igarapés” for fresh water and preys. This is an opportunity to observe them. Return to the lodge by the end of the day. Dinner outside, with the Milky Way where, the night rises on the forest, dark and uncertain.

DAY 9 : MALOCAS JUNGLE LODGE / JUNGLE SURVIVAL
The morning is spent on nearby rivers looking for birds, otters and botos that inhabit the jungle. Fishing rod and raw baits to try to catch the lengendary Piranha. Be fast to surprise these carnivorous fish. After lunch, everyone gather their sleeping bags, torches and ration before leaving the beach for the forest. Progress is slow into the dense vegetation. This walk, deeper into the forest provides surprising encounters with insects and plants. It is a perfect opportunity for our bilingual guide to share his knowledge and his secrets to survive in this inhospitable environment. The sun goes down and it is time to set up camp. Dinner under the stars and night in a hammock suspended 1,30 meter above the ground.

DAY 10 : MALOCAS JUNGLE LODGE – MANAUS
During breakfast, chat to define this morning final activity : Fish Tucunarés? Hike in the forest? Bath and canoe navigation? Explore plants and insects? After lunch, transfer to Manaus. Motor boat route to the village of Rio Preto da Eva. 01H30 navigation. At the village, transportation to Manaus changes for a car. 01H00 journey for 80 km. Upon arrival, check-in, installation at the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.

DAY 11 : MANAUS – SALVADOR

DAY 12 : SALVADOR / PELOURINHO & HISTORICAL CITY CENTRE
At 09:30, meeting in the hotel lobby with an English-speaking guide. Guided visit of the “Pelourinho”, where the history and energy of Salvador are centred. Walking among traditional houses and churches. Salvador reveals the secrets of the afro-Brazilian religion and its baroque treasures. The “Pelourinho” surprises travellers on every corner: a “Batuque”; a cold beer; a ‘berimbau “; a “roda de Capoeira “. From the “Elevador Lacerda”, an amazing view of the Baia de Todos os Santos; the area “do Comercio”, and the souvenir mercado modelo. On the other side the “Praça da Sé”; and the Museum of Afro-Brazilian culture, the pulsating heart of Salvador. Return to the hotel by the end of the morning. Rest of the day at leisure.

DAY 13 : SALVADOR – CACHOEIRA & SÃO FELIX / RECONCAVO BAHIANO
At 08:30, meeting in the hotel lobby with an English-speaking guide/driver. Day tour in the countryside, along the São Francisco River to discover the “Recôncavo Baiano”. 01H50 journey for 130 km. Stop in Cachoeira, a small town, which developed its activity, during the seventeenth century, through the tobacco and sugar cane trade. Tour along the river and the old classical buildings. They reflect the past splendour of the Colonial society. Financially strong and shelter of fugitive slaves, Cachoeira is quickly politicized in favour of the republic and the slavery abolition. Time travel through the visit of the Dannemann cigar factory, the home of Karl Heinz Hansen and the Convent of São Francisco de Paraguaçu. Return to Salvador by the end of the day. Evening at leisure.

DAY 14 : SALVADOR / DEPARTURE
