Unique experience to visit a very old heritage of settlement. 12,000 years ago, the human being lived in community and left his mark on beautiful cave paintings. These are the oldest human records found in Latin America, and demonstrate the rituals and day-by-day of those peoples. A journey to the eyes and to the spirit.

DAY 1 : RECIFE – OLINDA / ARRIVAL & VISIT
International / domestic flight arrival at Recife airport (schedule and flight number to confirm). Reception at the airport and private transpotation to the hotel. Installation followed by a guided tour in Olinda. Walking tour in Olinda’s historical city centre. The little town known as the “eight hills city” was founded in 1537. It is the birthplace of the Portuguese dream in Brazil. The city is a gem, a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The Brazilian history and architecture is revealed through the narrow streets, colorful houses and the amazing baroque churches of São Bento and São Francisco. The lush vegetation, the clear blue sky and the ocean views complete the warm impression that prevails in Pernambuco for five centuries. Return to the hotel and rest of the day at leisure.

DAY 2 : RECIFE / CITY TOUR & BRENNAND INSTITUTE
At 09:00, meeting in the hotel lobby with an English-speaking guide. Private visit to Recife in the neighbourhoods of São José, Santo Antônio and Recife Antigo. In order to discover the city’s origins where the Dutch and the Portuguese architecture met. Stops at ground zero, at the Golden Chapel, which walls are covered with gold cedar leaves; at the Santo Antonio Convent, its vaults and its hand painted tiles; at the São Pedro Square and its bridges built by the Flemish during the XVIIth century. Visit to the Municipal Market, and its Art Nouveau structure, where everything is sold, in a wide range of colours and flavours… Lunch in the market to taste the regional specialties. After lunch, the visit continues to the Francisco Brennand Institute, a prolific Brazilian artist who brings the public into his unique surrealistic universe. Walk into the gardens around the lakes and in the “castle” to discover a large collection of ceramic, and paintings. Return to the hotel by mid-afternoon. End of the day at leisure.

DAY 3 : RECIFE – PETROLINA – SÃO RAIMUNDO NONATO
03H00 prior to take-off, private transpotation to the airport. Domestic flight Recife – Petrolina (not included, schedule and flight number to confirm). Reception at the airport and private Portuguese-speaking transpotation to São Raimundo Nonato. 04H00 journey for 350 km. Upon arrival, check-in and installation at the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.

DAY 4 : SÃO RAIMUNDO NONATO / SERRA DA CAPIVARA NATIONAL PARK
At 08:00, meeting in the hotel lobby with an English-speaking guide. Private transpotation to the Serra da Capivara National Park. Stop at the “pre-Cambrian” belvedere which offers a panoramic view of the region. The visit begins by the Capivara trail, used since prehistoric times. It provides access to the sites covered with rupestrian paintings. Rituals and scenes of ancient life can be admired as the oldest yet found in Latin America. They are about 12.000 years old. Regional lunch before a stop at a ceramics workshop. Then continues the visit to the site knows as Hombu: “come see, come with me” in Tupi-Guarani language. A time travel journey, where the rock paintings have strong similarity with the landscapes. Return to São Raimundo Nonato by the end of the day. Afternoon at leisure.

DAY 5 : SÃO RAIMUNDO NONATO / SERRA DA CAPIVARA NATIONAL PARK
At 09:00, meeting in the lobby of the hotel with an English-speaking guide. Private transpotation to visit the American Man Museum. It protects the heritage of the Serra da Capivara National Park and indexes local archaeological discoveries. After the visit, walking to a set known as the Baixão das Mulheres, 03 sites rich in rock paintings. Lunch at the visitor centre before watching a movie about the work of the American Man foundation. The afternoon continues around the symbol of the National Park : the Pedra Furada and the Toca do Boqueirão, the Americas oldest archaeological site. Return to the hotel by the end of the day. Evening at leisure.

DAY 6 : SÃO RAIMUNDO NONATO – PETROLINA / DEPARTURE
After breakfast, private Portuguese-speaking transpotation to Petrolina’s airport. 04H00 journey for 350 km. Domestic flight (schedule and flight number to confirm).
